Miranda Cagle
Born and raised right outside of Chattanooga, Miranda took the typical Southern girl dance trilogy of ballet, tap and jazz. But years of personal anxiety kept her far away from the performing arts through her teens and twenties. On a dare from a friend, she started taking bellydance classes with Andrea Perkins at Zanzibar Studio in the Fall of 2003. It was love at first shimmy. Miranda has been studying bellydance ever since from numerous instructors. She began teaching at Zanzibar in 2005, performed with Dandasha Dance Company from 2004-2007, and co-founded Mirabai Bellydance in fall of 2008. Mirabai Bellydance seeks to share the fulfillment, empowerment and self-acceptance all women can find in their expression through dance. Embrace the belly!
