Shannon Vest
Shannon began her pilates journey 9 years ago in New York and was hooked from the first mat class. Within months, she was teaching her own mat class and working at the studio with the guidance of classically trained teachers. As much as she loved the little Brooklyn studio, she had always wanted to live in California, so she moved and remained on the west coast for 7 years. She continued studying pilates and tried many types and styles always returning to classical training. After 5 years of working 15+ hour days in television and film, it was time for a change. And change came in the form of a car accident and a spinal injury. She knew that the classic form of pilates was a really powerful healer for the spine. With the help of lots of physical therapy and pilates, Shannon is back in the world of jumping, yoga, and dancing. She has completed over 400 hours and passed through the intermediate levels of Romana's True Pilates. She moved back to her childhood town of Chattanooga recently to be near family and to return to a healthy, creative life. After much thought and experience, she is returning to her origins....mat work. It is the basis of all pilates. You can do it anywhere and it's affordable. Connecting with the body is the key element. Once you connect, it's like a little motor comes on and everything starts to change.
