Lori has been helping women before, during, and after pregnancy for over 8 years. She has assisted at over 90 births as either a Midwife Assistant, Monitrice, or Doula. Her skills and ability to guide and support come from the heart as well as experience. She received her Doula training from ALACE – the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators in 2000, and her apprenticeship as a Midwife from Debi Church, CPM (Certified Professional Midwife), and Carolyn Drake, CPM. She also began teaching Pre-natal Yoga and Childbearing Year Workshops at this time and Mommy and Baby Yoga in 2005

“I began my journey in the birth arena 16 years ago with the pregnancy and birth of my first child Aaron. I discovered that every woman has the opportunity to give birth as empowered as possible. A woman and her partner have to do what gives them peace, whether it is in the hospital or at home, in the water or in the bed, with a doctor or a midwife. Each of my three births taught me a little more about how I wanted my experience to be. Because I have gained so much from women, classes, books, training, and experience over the years, I cannot help but want to share this knowledge and hopefully wisdom with others.” Lori Bilbrey
